Erik Satie

Erik Satie (1866–1925) was a composer and pianist from Honfleur, best known for his Gymnopédies. Melody you can play here: Gymnopédie No. 1.

The three Gymnopédies (1888) are slow, calm piano pieces that sounded very unusual in their time. He played piano in Paris cabarets and influenced many later composers with his simple, playful style.
