1685–1750 · Baroque (before 1750) · 2 melodies

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) was a composer and organist from Eisenach, one of the most influential composers in history. Melodies you can play here: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Toccata and Fugue in D minor.

He spent his last 27 years as cantor of St Thomas in Leipzig, writing cantatas such as the one that ends with Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (1723). The famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor is attributed to him, although some scholars doubt that he wrote it.
